Home Screen – The screen which appears after your i-tab unit powers up. It features the options Songbook, Settings, Upgrade & Shutdown.
My i-tab will not turn on… ?
Slide and hold down the button on the right hand side of your i-tab for approximately three seconds and once the i-tab logo appears on the screen, release.
How do I connect my i-tab to my computer?
Inside your i-tab bundle, you will find a USB cable. Connect the smaller end of the cable to your i-tab and then connect the other end to the USB slot on your computer. The i-tab should automatically appear in your browser. Alternatively, it can be found as a new drive within My Computer.
Does the i-tab charge while plugged into my computer?
No. The i-tab unit will charge from a powered USB or from the mains using the power adapter included in your i-tab bundle.
How do I access the songbook?
Upon powering on your i-tab, four options are available to you on your Home Screen; Songbook, Settings, Upgrade and Shut Down. Access can be gained to any of these options by tapping the desired icon.
How do I turn the metronome on / off?
Tap Settings on your Home Screen. The metronome can be switched to either on or off by tapping the On and Off controls found in the first column on the left hand side of the settings menu.
How do I change the font colour / size?
Tap Settings on your Home Screen to enter setting. Within settings, you can change the text size, font colour and background colour to your preference.
How do I play content on my i-tab?
By tapping Songbook on the Home Screen, you will enter the Songbook. In Songbook, the the contents of your itab are listed. To select a tab, tap either the name or the tab icon. For files that also feature a video or audio file, tap the corresponding icon to play.
When playing a tab, numbers appear in the middle of the screen?
When you have opened your tab, you will see a list of the chords that are used in the song you have chosen. In the centre of the screen you will see 04 or 08 or 12. This represents the countdown of beats which enable you to get ready before playing your chosen song. The number of beats in the countdown can be changed in Settings. You can then start the tab by tapping anywhere on the screen.
How should I store my i-tab?
It is advisable to store your i-tab in the pouch provided. Avoid scratching or cracking the i-tab screen. A handy carry-wallet which offers further protection for your i-tab can be purchased from the Tabstore. Like all electronic devices, your i-tab should not be subjected to extremes in temperature or moisture and when not in use should be stored in a cool, dry place.
How do I put songs on my i-tab?
There are two ways to put songs on your i-tab.
1. Go to http://tabstore.i-tab.com/downloads.aspx and download and install the i-tab
PC Client on your computer. The PC-Client is a required download and makes it easy to transfer your purchased tabs straight to your i-tab. Your i-tab must be plugged into your computer via the USB cable when running the PC-Client
2. It is also possible to write your own tabs and then upload them onto your itab. Follow our “A Guide to Tabbing” for further instructions.
How do I create my own tabs?
A “Guide to Tabbing” is available from www.i-tab.com to help users write their own tab for their i-tab.
Can I edit a tab?
You will be able to edit the tabs you download from our tabstore. Once a tab is downloaded, you will be able to open it using notepad and change lyrics, chords, tempo, etc. To view tabs on your i-tab, plug your i-tab into your computer via usb cable. If your i-tab does not automatically load, open My Computer and select your i-tab. To open a tab file, right click on your chosen file and select “open with” and select Notepad. See the i-tab Guide to Tabbing to learn how to edit the actual tab. My song is not available on Tabstore. What should I do? Email our tab team at tabs@i-tab.com with your request and we will get on it as soon as possible. We will then notify you when it is available for download.
Does the i-tab follow my playing?
No. Our tabs are created to scroll in time with the original tempo of the song. The option is available to alter the speed of the song using the + or – signs in the top right hand corner of the screen when a song is open. However the tab will always revert to the original tempo when it is closed.
How can I delete tabs from my i-tab?
To delete tabs from your i-tab, connect your i-tab to your computer via USB cable and open the i-tab in My Computer within Windows. Select the tabs you wish to remove and press the delete button on your computer.
